Split an Image into Grids, Strips, or Tiles
Divide a picture into rows and columns, break a long screenshot into sections, or cut tiles by pixel size. Choose the layout, check the numbered preview, and download the pieces together.
- Grid, long-strip, and fixed-tile modes
- JPG, PNG, or WebP input up to 50 MB
- Numbered images in one ZIP download
- Free local processing, no account needed
Divide a picture by rows and columns
Grid Split starts with two rows and two columns. Change either value from 1 to 10 to make a 3-by-3 grid, a row of panels, or another rectangular layout. The tool divides the original pixels without resizing the picture. When its dimensions do not divide evenly, neighboring pieces can differ by one pixel. This keeps every source pixel in the result without gaps or repeated edges.
Break a long screenshot into readable sections
Use Long Split for webpage captures, scanned notes, and tall screenshots. Horizontal cuts create pieces ordered from top to bottom; vertical cuts create pieces ordered from left to right. Request 2 to 20 sections and inspect where the boundaries fall. The cuts follow geometry, so they can pass through a sentence or diagram. Check the preview before using the pieces in a document.
Cut fixed pixel tiles and keep the edges
Fixed Tiles lets you set a tile width and height in pixels. If the image is not an exact multiple of that size, the rightmost or bottom tiles are smaller. They preserve the remaining pixels without padding or stretching. This suits texture samples, design fragments, and dividing an existing image for another workflow. Crop unused borders first with the Image Cropper if you need a different source frame.
Save an ordered ZIP in your chosen format
All pieces download together as image-tiles.zip. Inside, tile-1, tile-2, and the remaining numbered files follow reading order: left to right, then top to bottom. Choose JPG, PNG, or WebP. PNG is a useful choice for text and transparent images; JPG flattens transparency onto white. JPG and WebP exports may use lossy compression. Splitting and ZIP creation run in your browser without uploading the source image.
How to Split an Image in Three Steps
Choose a source image
Open a JPG, PNG, or WebP file up to 50 MB. The image is read in this browser tab. For very large images, available device memory can affect processing.
Set the cut layout
Adjust the grid rows and columns, switch to Long Split for sections, or specify pixel dimensions in Fixed Tiles. The numbered overlay shows the cut order; for large tile sets, it displays the first 200 pieces.
Download the ZIP
Select JPG, PNG, or WebP and download the split images. Extract image-tiles.zip to access the numbered files. Grid and tile files run from left to right across each row, starting at the top.
Ways to Use Your Image Pieces
Long screenshots in documents
Turn a scrolling capture into smaller sections for notes or slides. Inspect text around each boundary because this tool does not detect paragraphs.
Grid compositions
Divide an image into several panels for a layout. Check the destination's dimensions and display order separately before publishing.
Design and texture fragments
Extract regular tiles from a larger design. Edge tiles keep their smaller dimensions when there are leftover pixels.
